Fort Walton Beach Medical Center and Twin Cities Hospital Advocate Breast Cancer Awareness by Offering Free Digital Mammograms

December 31, 2009—The month of January is a special one at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center and Twin Cities Hospital.  All month long, both facilities are offering free digital screening mammograms to the women in our communities. According to the American Cancer Society, 27% of all female cancer cases in 2009 were related to breast cancer. Twin Cities Hospital and Fort Walton Beach Medical Center want to help the women in our area become aware of the benefits of regular mammography screenings.  Bradley Brobeck M.D., Radiology Medical Director at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center stated, “Early detection of breast cancer has proven to raise survival rates and this program will offer an opportunity to be screened free of charge.”  CEO of Twin Cities Hospital, David Whalen, states "Our facilities offer state of the art digital mammography and we believe it is important to highlight these services to our community.
